George Gentry

Personal Information:
George lives near Folkston, Georgia.  He retired from WAGA TV 5, Atlanta as a producer, videographer and editor.  He also worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, making wildlife videos and shooting still photos of nature.  George won many awards for videos about the natural history of Georgia and now he is painting the natural beauty of the Okefenokee and Coastal Georgia.

  • George Foster Peabody -- documentary, Cumberland Island National Seashore.
  • Internaitonal Wildlife Film Association -- documentary about endangered red wolf.
  • Georgia Travel Photographer of the Year for several programs about Georgia.

  • 13, regional Emmy Awards for television producer, photographer, and editor.
  • Numerous Associated Press and United Press awards for news and documentaries.
  • Eudora Welty Americana Award for a television documentary.
