Folkston is the Gateway to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, or better known as the Okefenokee Swamp. Just 10 minutes away from us, it covers over 438,000 acres or just over 700 square miles.
Over 7,000 years old, it has developed into a peat filled bog inside a
sauce-shaped depression that once was a part of the ocean floor. To
